Privacy Policy

Fortro (“we,” “us”) is a messaging app for YouTube creators. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Fortro you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and the YouTube channel you connect at sign-in.
• YouTube channel data (read-only): your channel’s name, handle, avatar, banner, subscriber count, and public video statistics, used to build your profile and compute your reach score.
• Content you create: messages, images, posts, and comments you send within the app.
• Device tokens: a push-notification token so we can deliver notifications.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data (via Sentry). This data does not include message content.
• Usage analytics: basic product-usage events (for example, opening the app, signing up, sending a message, or creating a post), used to understand how the app is used and improve it. This does not include message content.

We do not collect your location, health, financial, contacts, or web-browsing data.

Google user data & YouTube

When you sign in with Google, Fortro requests the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly. We use this access solely to:

• identify and display the YouTube channel you choose to connect;
• read your channel’s public information and statistics (subscriber count, video stats) to create your profile and compute your reach score.

We never post, modify, or delete anything on your YouTube account, and we never access private content. You can revoke Fortro’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Fortro’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use information

• To create and display your public creator profile.
• To compute your reach score and determine who you can connect with.
• To deliver messages, calls, posts, and notifications.
• To keep the service secure and diagnose problems.

How information is shared

• With other users: your channel name, handle, avatar, and subscriber count are visible to other Fortro users, along with content you choose to send or post.
• With service providers that operate the platform on our behalf, and only to do so:
  • Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
  • Sentry — crash and performance diagnostics (default 90-day retention).
  • PostHog — product-usage analytics (funnels and retention).
  • Expo — push-notification delivery.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. Diagnostic data is retained on a rolling basis (Sentry’s default is 90 days). When you delete your account, we delete your profile and associated data. Note that a message deleted within a group chat is anonymized (replaced with a “deleted” indicator) rather than removed, to preserve continuity for other participants.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account: in the app, open Profile → “⋯” → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and associated data.
• Request a copy of your data by emailing us.
• Revoke Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children

Fortro is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
